
Firefighter Fitness Instructor Course

Course Objectives: The purpose of this 5 day course is to qualify participants to: Qualify one to proctor pre-employment physical fitness tests, perform basic fitness assessments, deliver nutrition and wellness educational sessions and programming for both in-service fire personnel and academy cadets. This course is academically and physically challenging. It demands a collegiate level of understanding of physical fitness, nutrition, and health. ***All students must show proof of current first aid/CPR/AED training prior to participating.

- Michigan Firefighter Instructor Manual (via link)
- Michigan Firefighter Fitness Instructional CD
Participant purchased materials (required):
- Nutrition Maker (BioEx professional nutrition software)
- NSCA’s Essentials of Personal Training text book (Human Kinetics, Amazon.com)

Participants will also need: Laptop computer, cross trainer gym shoes, workout clothing for each day, padlock for gym locker, shower sandals, towel.
Course Fee: $850.00 per student – Qualifies for 45 CEUs for Cooper Inst. Recertification. Breakfast is included daily.
